CranioSense Wins the Cade Prize for Innovation

Gainesville, FL — September 28, 2023

CranioSense has been named the Grand Winner of the 2023 Cade Prize for Innovation, recognizing the company’s breakthrough in noninvasive brain-pressure monitoring technology that could change how clinicians detect and manage traumatic brain injuries and other neurological conditions. The Cade Prize, presented by the Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention, celebrates early-stage inventions with strong commercial potential and drew innovators from 15 U.S. states, awarding more than $100,000 in prizes, as reported by Business Wire

A New Way to Monitor the Brain

Today, only a small percentage of patients with suspected brain injuries receive intracranial pressure testing because current methods are invasive, costly, and risky. CranioSense’s noninvasive brain-pressure monitoring system provides a safer, faster, and more accessible alternative, enabling clinicians to detect dangerous pressure changes earlier and improve outcomes for patients worldwide.

“The recognition of our vision by the Cade Museum is an enormous pillar of success for our young startup,” said co-founder Ryan Myers. “The prize money will help us refine our market approach, expand hospital partnerships, and gather direct clinical feedback.” (Business Wire

Massachusetts Companies Among National Finalists

CranioSense was selected from a national pool of finalists offering solutions in renewable energy, sustainable materials, and smart infrastructure. Other category winners included Terra Pave (eco-friendly paving), Adaptive Hydro (electrifying non-powered dams), Connected Wise (vehicle communication systems), and SpadXTech (sustainable leather alternatives). The Cade Prize site notes that CranioSense (Boston, MA), Adaptive Hydro (Somerville, MA), and SpadXTech (Worcester, MA) were among the winners and finalists, illustrating the strength of the Massachusetts innovation ecosystem. Honoring the Spirit of Inventivity™

Named for Dr. James Robert Cade, lead inventor of Gatorade, the Cade Prize embodies the museum’s concept of Inventivity™, the drive to turn groundbreaking ideas into real-world impact. Through the Cade Prize and its programs, the Cade Museum supports inventors, researchers, and entrepreneurs as they move innovations from the lab into the marketplace.
